LF El FOW Builds
Hi! Thanks for taking a moment to read this.
I'm looking for some basic builds that people use for doing FOW with a group. I'm still pretty new at learning how to play an El correctly, and have been practicing mostly with henchies or using solo builds to figure out the different aspects of playing an El. I would like to start doing FOW with her, but I could use some help on some basic builds to use in there. I don't want to be an liability to my team because I have no clue what will work. I always hear 'group lf nuker' and I'm going to assume its for a fire El, but I'm not sure
Anyways thank you to anyone who takes their time to write a response, I really appriciate it!. Oh yeah I'm an E/Mo lvl 20 with Proph and Factions.

Yup nuker refers to a fire ele who can drop meteor/meteor shower. A good idea would be to Echo your nuke spell.
Personally my build runs a standard of the following :
1. Flare
2. Fireball
3. Immolate
4. Meteor Shower
5. Rodgorts Invocation (rather steer clear of Mark of Rodgort)
6. Fire Attunement
7. Ele Attunement
8. Arcane Echo
You can adapt as you see fit. I vary my nukes by either echo'ing MS or RI. so I would go 8,5,4,5,2 then you just spam flare till you can cast your high damage spells again. You can change the order to 8,4,5,4 but it seems that the rapid use of MS now causes some mobs to scatter. Which is why I changed to RI instead.
I am running both Attunements simply to ensure that I have energy for the high costs. This does make you a bit more of a burden on the Monks if you take damage. But if the tanks are doing their job well and you learn how to use your aggro properly, this should not be a big problem for you. If you do want some healing, swap an attunement for AoR.
One other variation would be to take Renewal instead of Arcane Echo and AoR instead of Ele Attunement. This will give you faster recharge on your echo spell (and Renewal is not easy to interupt) as well as provide healing. The downside is that you will run out of energy very fast if you nuke too much.
Lastly, don't underestimate flare. With its fast recharge and cast rate you can really spam this one and it does help a lot on enemies with health below 40% if you combine it with immolate. The warrior attacking the same target will thank you

the build i run on my ele is similar to Luciora with the dual attunement but i prefer to be monk secondary so it goes:
Fire attunement
Ele attunement
mark of rodgort
fireball
rodgort's invocation
meteor shower
meteor
rebirth
fire 12 + 1 + 3
energy 12 + 3
the mark of rodgort is good for slapping on skeletal bonds before they get spellbreaker up ^^ so that you can use a fire dmg wand/staff to burn them to death >.>

Here is my build:
Max out fire and energy storage. Use any level of rune that u like.
1. fire attune
2. glyph of renewal
3. meteor shower
4. fireball
5. meteor
6. rodgorts invocation
7. glyph of lesser energy
8. rebirth
The key to being an ele (or any squichie) in FoW is to let the warriors fully draw aggro before you start attacking. Stay back far enough that when the warrior draws the mobs to him, you won't be inside his aggro bubble. Remeber, the monsters will move to him as soon as he enters their aggro range (and if you are in the mob's aggro range before it engages the warrior, it may run at you instead because you taste better). A good rule of thumb I use is to add an extra 1/2 aggro radius between me and the nearest red dot. Unfortanately, this only works if ALL the squishies in your group do this.
Anyway, once the mobs are properly attacking the warrior, (assume you always keep fire attune up) 2, 3, 7, 6, 2, 3, 4, 5. If the aggro was done right, there is usually nothing left standing and your energy bar is almost full. I find it is better not to cast MS back to back because if the timing is just wrong, it may cause scatter. Especially if the team has two eles nuking. If there are two eles, one should always go for melee groups while the other goes for casters. That way the two MS won't hit too close together and cause scatter.
